City United FC Celebrates Promotion to NSL Division Two

City United FC has secured promotion to Nottinghamshire Senior League Division Two, marking an important milestone for the club and the wider community behind it. The achievement reflects the commitment of the players, coaching team, supporters and partners who contributed throughout the season.

A SEASON BUILT ON COMMITMENT

Promotion was not achieved through one performance or one individual. It was the result of players consistently turning up, competing for one another and continuing to improve throughout the season.

The team faced difficult matches, changing circumstances and moments that tested its character. What remained constant was the belief that City United could grow into a stronger, more organised and more competitive football club.

Every training session, team conversation and match became part of the wider journey towards promotion.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE ACHIEVEMENT

The promotion belongs to everyone who contributed to the season. The players committed their time and energy on the pitch, while the coaching and management team worked behind the scenes to prepare the team, organise fixtures and create a clear footballing identity.

Supporters, volunteers, families and community members also played an important role. Their encouragement helped create a stronger environment around the club and reminded the team that it was representing something larger than itself.

City United also recognises the organisations and partners that have supported the club’s continued development, including Black and Proud CIC, Xixa, Richflex, the National Lottery and Sport England.

A TEAM THAT CONTINUED TO GROW

Throughout the season, City United showed its ability to compete, respond to setbacks and produce exciting attacking football. Strong performances helped the team build confidence, while difficult moments provided important lessons about concentration, discipline and game management.

The players continued to understand their responsibilities within the team and became more connected in and out of possession. That development was essential as the club worked towards the consistency required for promotion.

The achievement represents progress, but it also provides a foundation for the next stage of the club’s journey.

THE NEXT CHALLENGE

Promotion to NSL Division Two will bring stronger opposition, greater expectations and new challenges. City United will need to continue improving its preparation, player development and matchday standards.

The objective is not simply to participate in the new division. The club wants to compete with confidence, establish itself at the higher level and continue building an environment where players can develop.

The work begins again with the same principles that supported this promotion: commitment, discipline, togetherness and belief.

A PROUD MOMENT FOR THE COMMUNITY

This promotion is an important football achievement, but it is also a proud moment for the community surrounding City United.

It shows that a community-led football project can create structure, opportunity and meaningful experiences while competing successfully on the pitch.

City United FC thanks every player, supporter, volunteer and partner who contributed to the journey. The club now moves forward with pride, ambition and excitement for the season ahead.
